This tour will take you through a fascinating discovery of the most outstanding cultures of the north of Peru, Moche and Chimú, remarkable civilizations, overtaken by the Incas, later on.

You will visit Huacas de Moche, a representative architectonic complex of the Moche culture. Lady of Cao, the oldest female ruler ever recognized in the old Peru. Chan Chan the capital citadel of the Chimu, the largest pre-columbian city and the formidable remains of the Lord of Sipan.


In Lima, we pick you up your hotel and transfer you to the Cruz del Sur Bus Station to go to Trujillo (Bus sofa bed seats service – departing at 22:00).


Arrival and City tour in Trujillo:
Pick-up from the Cruz del Sur bus station in Trujillo (arriving early in the morning) and transfer to your hotel.

Later in the day we will pick you up from your hotel and begin the city tour of one of the most beautiful colonial cities of northern Peru. Walk through the streets full of mansions and architectonic neoclassical and rococo style among others masterpieces. Trujillo it is part of the Moche Valley, where the important pre- Inca cultures of Moche and Chimú developed. Trujillo was the first Peruvian city to declare independence from Spain in 1820.

You’ll continue visiting the enigmatic complex of “El Brujo” (the wizard), an ancient ceremonial centre. Its earliest discovery was Huaca Prieta and the biggest parts of this archeological site are recognized as part of the Moche culture known as the great architects and hydraulic engineers of their time.

Finally, meet the earliest evidence of a powerful female ruler in Peru, in your Lady of Cao tour. Transfer to Trujillo by bus and then transfer to your hotel.

Chan Chan and Moche Culture Tour:
Pick up from your hotel. Start at the archeological complex of the Huacas de Moche, admirable ancient remainings of the main centre of the Moche culture, by the Cerro Blanco peak, strategically located near the mouth of the Moche River Valley. Huaca del Sol, built for administrative and residential purposes and Huaca de la Luna, a ceremonial and religious centre. A monumental site which bears proof of the Moche power, a civilization that expanded between 100 and 900AD.

After lunch, you’ll continue your Moche Tour in Huanchaco, a traditional fishermen town key port for the Moche, the Chimu and the Incas in the past. Presently we still find the outstanding “Caballitos de totora”, small reed boats used to surf the waves; a tradition that dates back more 3,000 years.

Only 4km further, is your last stop, Chan Chan, the capital and largest pre-Columbian Chimu city. A magnificent architectural masterpiece. It was declared a World Patrimony by UNESCO in 1986.

Transfer to the bus station to go to Chiclayo.

Lord of Sipan Full Day Tour:
Pick-up from your hotel. Start by meeting the famous and miraculously intact Lord of Sipán at Huaca Rajada, A member of the Moche dynasty. The first royal mummy to be discovered in Peru. The tour will continue at the Museum of Huaca Rajada that exhibits his remains.

Next visit will be at the National Museum of Royal Tombs; listed as the most modern in Latin America, where the real gems of the Mochica art remains and keeps the remains of the old dignitary of Sipan.

Return to your hotel.

Overnight in Chiclayo.


Historical Visit and Departure:
Pick-up from your hotel. Today you’ll visit the National Museum of Sican which reveals the customs and lifestyle of Sican and harbors the Lord of Sican’s tombs and funerary pieces.

Continue at the the Historical Sanctuary of Pomac Forest. Tour of the Dry Carob Forest, with a stop at the Interpretation Center, a close sight of the spectacular Millennium Tree, and the viewpoint “Las Salinas” and Batán Grande Archaeological Complex.

Finally, visit Túcume and the Valley of the Pyramids on 220 hectares. Túcume is the largest Archaeological Opencast Complex, found in the middle of an arid desert with a beautiful dry forest. Return to your hotel.

Pick up from your hotel and transfer to a bus station or airport in Chiclayo to return to Lima (evening).
