If you are looking for a complete experience in Cusco, you can add this hike to our:

    1. DAY 1 HUMANTAY LAKE

We will meet in the lobby of your hotel at 5:00 a.m. Your adventure to Lake Humantay will start with a 4-hour drive in our private transportation, passing through the towns of Limatambo and Mollepata until we reach Soraypampa (altitude: 3850m / 12628ft).

Soraypampa is the first day campsite of the Salkantay trek, which is an alternate route to reach Machu Picchu (besides from the classic Inca Trail). Here in Soraypampa, you will have a delicious box breakfast before starting the hike to Lake Humantay (altitude: 4200m / 13776ft).

Along the way, you will enjoy impressive views of the snowed-capped mountains, such as the Salkantay and Humantay. The hike will take about 1.5 hours and the difficulty level is moderate, which is worth it when you see the magical view of the Lake Humantay and its turquoise water. It is also possible to rent a horse (not included in the price).

At your arrival, you will have enough time to take pictures of this beautiful hidden gem and/or bring an offer to the Apus (sacred mountains). You will observe mounds of stones as an offering and gratitude to Pachamama (mother earth). After some free time, you will start your descent to Soraypampa for about 1.5 hours, which is a lot easier than the way up.

In Soraypampa, you will enjoy a box lunch and after some rest, you will be transferred to your hotel in Cusco, arriving at around 6:00 p.m.
