2-Day Colca Canyon tour
The Colca Canyon is more than twice as deep as the Grand Canyon in Colorado – USA. It is 4,150 meters / 13,612 feet deep, therefore it is considered as one of the deepest canyons in the world. The name “Colca” comes from the word of two ethnic communities: the Collaguas and Cabanas, who lived along the Colca River. Besides its grandeur, the Colca Canyon is a fantastic place to witness closely the majestic flight of the Condor, and a great opportunity to take up-close photographs of them.
On this 2-Day Colca Canyon tour, you will admire first vicuña herds and even Andean wolves when passing through the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve. Then, you will stop at “Mirador de los Andes” viewpoint to observe astonishing views of the Misti, Chachani, Sabancaya, and Ampato volcanoes. Afterward, you will have an initial panoramic view of the Colca Canyon from the Achachiua viewpoint. You will also pass by Andean communities surrounded by pre-Inca terraces and local inhabits. And last but not least, you will have the best time watching the Andean condor at Cruz del Condor viewpoint.
The 2-Day Colca Canyon Tour is aimed for those who love nature, the Andes, and wants to see the sublime condor fly.

In the Highlands, the temperature changes throughout the day and these changes are more evident between the shadow and the sun, so it is necessary to keep warm clothes. Therefore, it is advisable to dress in layers so you can put on/off your clothes depending on the temperature. The climate is generally very dry so it is advisable to use moisturizing creams.

Altitude sickness is associated with headache, fatigue, nausea and malaise. The symptoms do not always appear and depend on each person.
We recommend you to rest for at least 3 hours upon arrival, eat light as digestion might be slower during your first days, and drink plenty of fluids.
You may find some medicine against the altitude sickness, like “sorojchi pills” (it contains caffeine), or people may recommend you to drink coca tea. However, both options are not advisable for people with heart diseases, respiratory disorders, diabetes or high blood pressure.
We recommend that you consult your physician before your travel.
A natural medicine, like the “Muña” tea (Andean mint), will help for a good digestion.
