Inti Raymi the Inca Sun Festivity
Every June 24th, people from all over the world gather around the Sacsayhuaman fortress in Cusco, Peru to witness the Inti Raymi, the celebration of the Sun God and the beginning of the Inca New Year. Here’s a video of the reenactment that captures this ritual very authentically.
This magnificent production is true to its origins. The wardrobe, sounds and rituals help you live the moment as if you were witnessing the celebration back in the time of the Incas. The Inti Raymi celebrates the arrival of the winter solstice, a very important day in the Inca almanac.
